In 2018, the Municipality of Lenart joined the Green Scheme of Slovenian Tourism. By signing the Green Policy of Slovenian Tourism, it has committed itself to info-sustainable operation and continuous efforts to improve in the field of tourism. In March 2019, it became a full member of the Slovenia Green family. The Slovenian Tourist Board awarded it with the Slovenia Green Destination Silver badge, which confirms the efforts of the municipality and all stakeholders to become a destination that follows development trends in various fields of activity but still manages to maintain its authentic rural image. A reassessment of the sustainability of the destination will follow in 2022.
The Green Scheme of Slovenian Tourism (ZSST) is a national program and certification scheme under the umbrella brand SLOVENIA GREEN:
• combines all efforts for the sustainable development of tourism in Slovenia,
• offers destinations and providers concrete tools to assess and improve sustainable performance,
• through the Slovenia Green brand, it also promotes this green operation.
